Have you ever felt condemned to never being able to reach a goal or realize a dream?
In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was the king of Corinth, known for his cunning and intelligence. For repeatedly deceiving the gods, Zeus sentenced him to one of the most emblematic punishments of the human condition: pushing a huge boulder up the side of a mountain, only to see it roll back down each time he neared the summit. An endless act, without purpose or fulfillment.
The Sisyphusian curse has become the image of an endless struggle, made of repeated efforts that never seem to lead to the finish line. It is not physical torture, but psychological. In Transactional Analysis, this myth is sometimes associated with those who live according to an "Almost" script, made of attempts that never find full fruition.
My story, in some ways, resembles that of Sisyphus. There have been moments in my life when I felt like I was pushing a boulder that would fall back every time I got close to the finish line. It was a cycle of fatigue, falls, and new beginnings, where every effort seemed futile.
But, unlike the myth, my journey took a turn. Thanks to meeting competent, empathetic, and knowledgeable people, I was able to break that seemingly eternal cycle.
Today I know that change is possible, even when it seems like an illusion. With the right support, with a professional yet deeply human perspective, it's possible to rewrite internal patterns that seemed immutable. There are no perfect paths, but there are healing relationships, tools that guide, and enlightening encounters.
If today I dedicate myself to accompanying people on their journeys, it is because I have experienced firsthand the transformative power of listening, connection, and expertise.
Even Sisyphus can do it!…and so can you!
